How do I book a show at Roboto?

  • Roboto does not book shows in-house but anyone can rent the space for a show or event.
    • Touring bands must have a local promoter in place to secure a date. If you have a local opener willing to perform that role that is also ok.
    • Local bands can book and promote shows themselves (find bands to fill out the bill, make and distribute flyers, etc) themselves or use a local promoter.
    • We have a list of local promoters and some other helpful info for bands here
  • Roboto provides volunteers to run the door, sound, and keep the venue clean, although you're welcome to provide your own people to do those things.
  • Most shows are 3-4 band bills.
  • Roboto is a sober space: no alcohol or other substances are allowed on the premises.
  • Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and other types of oppressive language will not be tolerated.

Important Details:

Cost to rent space:

For Roboto MEMBERS: $75 or 25% of ticket sales (whichever is greater)

For NON-MEMBERS: $100 or 35% of ticket sales (whichever is greater)

Time Constraints:
Shows typically start at 8pm, with doors at 7pm and load-in at 6pm, but that can be adjusted within reason. During the week (Sun-Thurs), we aim to have shows over by 10:30pm.  Weekend shows (Fri and Sat) must be over by 11.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel your event within two weeks of the day of the event, you owe a $25 cancellation fee. You will have another two weeks after the original event to pay this fee. If you cancel your event the day of, or simply do not show up, you owe a $50 cancellation fee.

A Note on Acceptable Performance Material:

The Mr. Roboto Project reserves the right to deny any performance based on the material to be performed.  Although we support a performer’s right to freedom of speech, we also value each individual’s right to feel safe within Roboto. Therefore, performers with sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or material that otherwise disrespects or threatens individuals may be denied the chance to perform at Roboto. Any cases involving questionable performance material will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Board of Directors.
